USA: “Transformers 3″ zunächst ohne Extras auf Blu-ray Disc & DVD – 3D & Deluxe Version erst später

Paramount hat heute in den USA die Veröffentlichung von „Transformers: Dark of the Moon“ für den 30. September auf Blu-ray Disc und DVD angekündigt. Allerdings erscheint dann zunächst nur eine einfache Version ohne Extras in Form einer Blu-ray Disc/DVD/Digital Copy Kombo sowie einer einfachen DVD. Eine „Deluxe Edition“ auf Blu-ray Disc und DVD inklusive Blu-ray 3D soll erst zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erscheinen. Die Blu-ray Disc wird immerhin mit einem Dolby TrueHD 7.1-Soundtrack ausgestattet sein.
Wer jetzt meint, diese Doppel-Strategie diene nur der Gewinnmaximierung, für den hat Regisseur Michael Bay natürlich eine passende Erklärung parat: Um die 3D-Version optimal im Heimkino präsentieren zu können, brauche man einfach noch etwas Zeit, erklärte Bay:
„For fans who can’t wait, the Blu-ray release in September will deliver an awesome ride with the movie in stunning 1080p high definition and a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that was personally overseen by our phenomenal supervising sound mixer just for the Blu-ray,“ said director Michael Bay. „As you know, we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing–and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features.“
Ein genauer Zeitplan für die Deluxe & 3D-Version wurde noch nicht genannt. Auch der deutsche Veröffentlichungstermin für den dritten „Transformers“-Teil ist noch nicht bekannt.
